Our exploration of coastal Ecuador commences in Manta, a pivotal port city in the country and a key tourism hub in Manabí. This coastal town is globally recognized for its thriving fishing industry, particularly for its prized export, tuna, which reaches markets worldwide.
Upon arrival, our shuttle will transport you to Manta's port authority (TPM), where we'll embark on the M/Y Kontiki Wayra for check-in and a refreshing welcome drink. Our concierge will acquaint you with our crew members, provide a tour of the yacht's facilities, and allocate the staterooms that will serve as your home for the next four days.
In the evening, we'll gather for a welcome dinner hosted by our talented executive chef onboard.
As night falls, we'll set sail for Islote Pedernales.
We kick off day 2 at Islote Pedernales, a small islet near Puerto Cayo known for its calm waters and pristine landscapes. Following breakfast onboard, we'll head out in one of our tenders to explore the islet's surroundings on a snorkeling expedition, offering a unique chance to uncover the underwater marvels of the area. From June to October, this spot also provides a special opportunity to observe humpback whales up close.
Around noon, we'll return to the yacht for some leisure time, whether it's enjoying ocean activities, relaxing in the hot tub, soaking up the sun in the Chill Parlour, or indulging in spa treatments.
After lunch, you'll have free time for a private beach experience, engaging in various marine activities like snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, or swimming at our beach club, complete with an oceanic pool, water slide, SeaBobs, and green golf, among other amenities.
We'll reconvene on the yacht for dinner before setting sail for Isla de la Plata.
Following breakfast, the day's activities kick off with a wet landing on Isla de la Plata, situated within Machalilla National Park. This island boasts stunning natural wonders, and a stroll along its trails will lead us to nesting grounds of Blue Footed Boobies, Masked Boobies, and Frigatebirds.
After our terrestrial exploration, we'll return to the yacht for lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll embark on a guided snorkeling expedition to explore the marine ecosystem surrounding the island. Here, we'll encounter a diverse array of marine life, including giant stingrays, whale sharks, and turtles.
During the mating season from June to October, we may have the chance to observe humpback whales from a distance as they migrate to warmer waters for mating and birthing. Scuba diving can be arranged upon request at the time of booking.
As the afternoon unfolds, we'll indulge in a sunset party featuring the freshest seafood from the region and the signature cocktails.
The day concludes as we set sail for Manta.
We will bid farewell in the early morning, as your transfer to Manta's Port Authority (TPM) will be ready and waiting.
After check-out, you will be transferred to either Manta's airport or the hotel of your preference.
This marks the conclusion of our services.
