Travelling by yacht is the most authentic way to see the Galapagos Islands. The Cachalote Explorer offers its passengers the opportunity to disconnect and experience the unique nature and wildlife of sites that are only accessible by a live aboard boat. These remote sites allow the passengers to see and experience the wildlife in their natural habitat.We pride ourselves in providing our passengers with the most knowledgeable and skilled naturalist guides. Their expertise gives the passengers more insight, awareness and in-depth education of the islands flora and fauna.
Because the Cachalote Explorer is spacious and comfortable the passengers are able to spend more time relaxing and admiring the scenery.

A Typical Day As An Explorer

Each day passengers awaken in a new part of the islands and disembark shortly after breakfast for morning activities, which include a walk through one of the various visitor sites followed by a snorkeling excursion.
After lunch the boat moves to a new visitor site. During this time guests have the opportunity to rest and look for marine life from one of the decks.
Later in the afternoon passengers disembark for another nature walk, and perhaps another opportunity to snorkel and swim.

Guest Accommodation

8 cabins each with private washroom and hot water showers, fully air-conditioned.

Crew

All crew fully trained and certified by the IMO. Captain, multilingual naturalist guide, cook, engineer(s), barman and sailors.

Itineraries & Visits

The Cachalote Explorer offers 6 day and 8 day itineraries that visit selected (National Park approved) sites. Each of these sites are unique, rich and varied and offer the opportunity to experience the Galapagos up close and personal with a small group led by a highly experienced naturalist guide. The itineraries can be combined to form a 15 day itinerary which is highly recommend for those travelers that would like to have a more in-depth experience of the Galapagos Islands.
