The Antarctica Express Air-Cruise is tailored for those seeking a swift and cost-effective expedition to Antarctica. This journey provides the opportunity to explore Cape Horn, navigate the Drake Passage, make a landing in Antarctica, and return by flight.

6 Day Antarctica Itinerary

Day 1: Ushuaia: Beagle Channel & Chile: Puerto Williams

Embark on your journey in Ushuaia, Argentina, at the pier. After boarding your ship in the afternoon, sail along the Beagle Channel toward Puerto Williams, Chile – the southernmost town globally. Take time to explore the surroundings before heading to Cape Horn.

Day 2: Nassau Bay & Cape Horn

Following an overnight crossing of Nassau Bay, you wake up with a clear view of the legendary Cape Horn! If the weather allows, hop on a Zodiac and become one of the privileged few to set foot on this renowned and seldom-visited island. Upon returning to the ship, continue the journey towards Antarctica, crossing the renowned passage named in honor of Sir Francis Drake, the eminent 16th-century British explorer.

Day 3: Drake Passage

While navigating the Drake Passage towards King George Island in the South Shetland Islands, participate in a captivating series of lectures and presentations. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, observe wildlife from the lounge or outside decks. Keep an eye out for impressive seabirds like albatrosses and petrels, along with various whale species heading south towards Antarctica.

Day 4: South Shetland Islands

Once beyond the Antarctic Convergence, brace for a noticeable environmental shift. Keep your camera at the ready, as this marks the period to anticipate the initial icebergs and the first glimpse of Antarctic terrain. Upon reaching the South Shetland Islands, navigate through ice-filled bays, accompanied by seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales. Embark on a Zodiac for your first memorable shore visit to a penguin colony. Exploration will extend well into the evening, making the most of the extended Antarctic daylight.

Day 5: King George Island

Upon arrival at King George Island, disembark at Fildes Bay. A 2-km (1.25-mile) walk leads you through Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen Station to the aircraft. Bid farewell to Antarctica as you board the flight back to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for the night. (Please note: Meals in Punta Arenas are at your discretion and are not included in the program).

Day 6: Punta Arenas

Following breakfast, proceed to the Punta Arenas airport for your next flight.
