Wildlife and photography enthusiasts are invited to cast their votes as 25 stunning images compete for the title of best in class.

From playful monkeys to a beluga whale exfoliating its skin, these captivating photos are contenders for the Wildlife Photographer People’s Choice Award of the Year, offering fascinating glimpses into the world of wild animals and nature.

The shortlisted images were selected from 59,228 entries submitted by photographers from 117 countries, showcasing both the beauty of wildlife and the challenges it faces today.

Dr. Douglas Gurr, Director of the Natural History Museum, remarked, “The People’s Choice Award allows people from all over the world to join the jury and vote for their favorite image, inspiring a deeper connection with the natural world.”

This year’s finalists include moments such as a European roller defending its territory from a startled little owl, and a poignant image of a cheetah cub awaiting sale in Ethiopia.

Voting is open online or via digital screens at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London. The public has until Wednesday, 29 January 2025, to select their favorite.
