The Expedition Team tailors each voyage based on the Antarctic weather conditions, ensuring that every day of the Polar Circle air-cruise is brimming with abundant chances for exploration.
Upon your arrival in Punta Arenas, Chile, before 2 PM, our staff extends a warm welcome. You'll be transferred to your hotel, visit Explorers House, and participate in a mandatory briefing offering crucial information about your air-cruise, along with essential guidelines for Antarctic visitors. Later, a welcome dinner introduces you to local cuisine, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow adventurers from across the globe.
A seamless two-hour flight transports you from Punta Arenas to King George Island in the South Shetland Islands. Your Antarctic journey commences upon disembarking the plane, inhaling the crisp Antarctic air. After a 2-km (1.25-mile) walk, passing Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen Station, you reach the shore to embark on a Zodiac, which will transport you to your boutique expedition vessel.
Cruise through ice-filled fjords and amidst breathtaking icebergs, accompanied by seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales. Explore the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, disembarking daily by Zodiac. In small groups, embark on hikes to extraordinary sites and join exploratory Zodiac excursions to inaccessible areas. Expert polar guides offer engaging presentations on Antarctica's wildlife, history, and wonders. Enjoy stunning views from the glass-enclosed lounge while sharing daily adventures with fellow guests. The expedition aims to reach the Polar Circle, with the route tailored by the Expedition Team based on local conditions, embracing nature's opportunities. Upon returning to King George Island, say your farewells to Antarctica as you board the flight bound for Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel for the night. (Please note: Meals in Punta Arenas are at your discretion and are not included in the program.)
Following breakfast, proceed to the Punta Arenas airport for your onward flight.
