Aqua Expeditions Launches Galapagos Superyacht

2021-10-05

8-berth Aqua Mare to debut in May 2022

EXCLUSIVE: Aqua Expeditions plans to add a superyacht into its small-ship fleet, and will begin sailing in the Galapagos Islands by mid-2022.

In the last few days, the company began to promote Aqua Mare, the new destination and vessel, via social media and on its website.

Aqua Expeditions currently has four vessels in its fleet: the 16-suite Aria Amazon (Peruvian Amazon), the 20-suite Aqua Mekong (Cambodia and Vietnam), the 15-suite Aqua Blue in East Indonesia, and the 20-suite Aqua Nera (Peruvian Amazon).

Although the cruise line has not yet named the Galapagos its next destination, it is offering clients the chance of winning a cruise on the first superyacht. Clients can name the location by just naming it. However, the descriptions and images - which include "the largest marine biosphere reserve in the world" - make it seem obvious.

Aqua Expeditions website states that "This uncharted corner is one of those magical settings, where a dynamic ecosystems and different species' livescycles mean that nature will have something exceptional to show us every day."

Aqua Mare, a 50-metre superyacht that is the first to operate in Galapagos according to Aqua Expeditions, will offer two seven-night itineraries that can be combined to make two 14-night options.

It is believed that the yacht was originally built by CRN Spa, Ancona, Italy, in 1998. The yacht was named Doctor No. However, Aqua Expeditions acquired it in 2021. Aqua Mare can accommodate 16 people in eight cabins and a crew of 12.

Also, the competition confirms that Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino was once again tasked with managing the onboard culinary program. He has previously done this on Aria amazon and Aqua Nera.

Voyages aboard Aqua Mari will begin in the Galapagos on May 6, 2022.

Once the competition is over, more details will likely be available.
